B. Elizabeth Barriere passed away on July 26, 2013 in Norwich. She was the daughter of Kathleen (Norris) and Arthur Fitch. She had a twin sister Barbara and a brother Douglas. She was born in Norwich on June 3, 1933. She graduated from NFA in 1951 and then attended Jackson von Ladeau School of Fashion in Boston, MA. On November 8, 1952 she married Paul J. Barriere and between them they had two children: Anne and Charles. After her husband was discharged from the USAF in 1956, they moved to Los Angeles where Elizabeth worked for many years as an Accountant for Welton Becket and Associates, an Architectural firm. From 1973 to 1975 she, her husband and son, returned to Norwich via the Panama Canal on their sailboat. She spent the next thirty years working as an artist creating New England scenes in both pen and ink, and oil, successfully selling them throughout the northeast. She is survived by her husband, her children, her daughter-in-law Christine, her grandchildren Carolyn and C.J., and several nieces and nephews.
